  • Destin Daniel Cretton

    Destin Yori Daniel Cretton grew up in Haiku, Maui. He is best known for his films Short Term 12, The Glass Castle, Just Mercy and the Marvel Studios film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

    With Shang-Chi both the film and Cretton's involvement were confirmed during the San Diego Comic-Con 2019, with the film being titled Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The film, which is Marvel's first superhero movie tentpole franchise with an Asian protagonist, stars Simu Liu as the title character, with Tony Leung Chiu-wai and Awkwafina co-starring.

  • Branscombe Richmond

    Richmond is the son of movie stuntman Leo C. Richmond and first broke into film and TV in the early 1970s with minor roles in shows such as The Bionic Woman (1976), The Rockford Files (1974) and Magnum, P.I. (1980). In early 1991 Richmond scored the key role of "Bobby Six Killer" in the bounty hunter-themed TV series Renegade (1992) starring alongside Lorenzo Lamas and Kathleen Kinmont. The series was quite successful and ran from 1992 to 1997, turning out over 100 episodes! Additionally, Richmond has starred in plenty of B-movie action films and has become quite a cult figure of the genre.

    Since the late 1990s, Richmond has remained busy on several fronts. He’s the official spokesman for Indian Motorcycles and is the lead singer for the band "Branscombe Richmond and the Renegade Posse". He's also notched up numerous awards, including being voted "Native American Entertainer of the Year" and "Mr Showman" of the year by the Las Vegas Review Journal.

  • Vene Chun

    Vene was born in Honolulu and raised on the West Side of Oahu in a valley called Nanakuli. His family moved to Maui in 1977 where Maui remained his home. A graduate of Kamehameha Schools, Kapalama, an all Hawaiian School founded by Princess Pauahi in 1887, Vene continued his passion for his Hawaiian Ancestry through his restoration of Maui’s Ancient Fishponds, voyaging of Outrigger & Sailing Canoes, passion for Hula/ Chanting, and storytelling of Hawaiian History/ Mythology.

    Vene has appeared in many films, including Paradise City (2022), starring Bruce Willis and John Travolta.

  • Tarvin & Mapuana Makia

    Mapuana Makia was born in Hawaii, USA. She graduated from Hawaii Pacific University in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre.

    She is an actress and director, known for Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. (2021), Finding 'Ohana (2021) and Two Sentence Horror Stories (2017).

He has been honored with two Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards for his work with A‘ea‘e, and has several solo albums and singles to his credit.

  • Stefan Schaefer & Brian Kohne

    Stefan Schaefer’s films have premiered and won awards at festivals such as the Berlin International Film Festival, SxSW, Rotterdam and the Hamptons, among many others, and have been successfully released theatrically and on NetFlix, Amazon Prime, HBO, Hulu, Starz, PBS and the Sundance Channel. He has over fifteen feature film credits to his name as a writer, director and/or producer. Stefan graduated from Wesleyan University, and studied as a Fulbright Scholar at Christian-Albrechts University in Kiel, Germany. He and his family live on the North Shore of Maui, Hawai'i.

    Maui Film Commissioner Brian Kohne is an award-winning motion picture writer/director/producer (Get A Job, Kuleana) and music producer (Barefoot Natives, Willie K) who grew up on Maui. A 1982 Baldwin High graduate and an Art and Radio/TV/Film alumnus of San Jose State, he returned to Maui in 2005 from Silicon Valley, having excelled as a national director of sales and marketing, as a senior user interface architect for an interactive television corporation, and in sports broadcasting and corporate video production. Kohne is also a tenured associate professor who also built the Academy for Creative Media at University of Hawaii Maui College.

    Lindsay Watson was born in Kula, Hawaii. She is an actress, known for The Wind & the Reckoning (2022), Finding 'Ohana (2021) and One Million Dolla.
